The Argentum Strategy Group is led by Susan Silver, a seasoned marketing expert with more than 20 years of experience working with businesses ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to much smaller, less formal entrepreneurial companies, some with as few as 2 employees.

Prior to founding Argentum, Susan had a successful, multi-faceted career, primarily in consumer packaged goods. With 10 years of classical marketing training from Kraft Foods, as well as tenure at Merisant, Procter & Gamble, Sara Lee and MeadWestvaco, she has played a key role in the success of a variety of businesses, including Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Pampers, Equal Sweetener, Sara Lee bakery products, and Hi-Gloss paperboard.

Throughout her career, Susan has grown businesses using a broad array of marketing tactics ranging from paid and organic search to traditional promotions and both digital and conventional advertising. More unusual programs include the creation of a TV show featuring embedded content and a groundbreaking roadshow-centric turnaround strategy for Equal Sweetener using a budget one-tenth that of the leading competitor’s.

Susan’s background includes sales experience at Procter & Gamble, and a wide range of general management and P&L leadership positions at Kraft Foods. Other assignments have included roles in Market Research, CRM, Strategic Alliances and Multicultural Marketing.

Susan earned her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and graduated cum laude from Duke University with a dual major in Biology and History. She has been a guest lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, in addition to being a mentor for Techstars, Future Founders and the Polsky Accelerator. She also teaches positioning, research and marketing strategy at 1871, Chicago’s premier technology incubator.

Susan is on the Lakeview Pantry board in addition to being on the Advisory Board of ZipFit and Po Campo, both Chicago startups.

Susan came in and helped evaluate our brand strategy, developed a strategic plan and guided us to developing our annual brand plans.  Her work was very well thought out and provided leadership for the organization while we had a void in the marketing leadership position.
